Surprisingly, the GTR leaves open, which time parameter must be applied
[11], p. 225:
„The laws of the GTR are independent on the parameterisation of
the time.“
This degree of variance must be put to use for additional solving variations
of the field equations, even when non-foreseeable risks are connected to
this [12], p. 10:
„The possibility of an arbitrary definition ( of the time measure)
could be used to give the theory an especially simple, expedient
and lucid shape. It could also be that definitions at such a fundamental
term as the time has hard to foresee consequences for the total structure
of physics, and that the range of the observable and explainable phenomena
depends essentially on these definitions.”
