3.8 The hypothesis of the Earth expansion

According to the CTH (G ~ t -2/3), the gravitation pressure in the Earth globe must constantly decrease.  The consequence from this would be, the Earth slowly grows in the course of time.
In 1933 already, O. C. Hilgenberg had presented a scientifically founded hypothesis of the Earth expansion, in his scipt " Vom wachsenden Erdball" /translated “about the growing earth globe”.
He shows, all continents, including the shelves and shallow seas,  can be combined, like in a puzzle, nearly without gaps, on the surface of a globe having about half the diameter of today's Earth.
This fascinating finding, later impressively supported by Klaus Vogel [28], with his “globe models”, can, as many scientists believe, by no means rest on mere accidence alone.
Unfortunately, Hilgenberg could, with his “ether stream hypothesis”, not give a satisfactory physical argument for the growing Earth globe, accepted by  science. Only when various researchers 1) , founding on the Dirac hypothesis, formulated the theory of the Earth expansion (EE) anew, it gained attention again in science.
It explains various gelogical phenomena in an elegant manner:
- The apparent bi-level distribution of altitude levels on the Earth surface  ( Fig.9 on p. 23),
- The global net of Earth gaps, which are interpreted as stress gaps due to the Earth expansion ( Fig. 10 on p. 27),
- The exact match of the coast lines (shelves) of Africa and South America,
- The development of volcanism, Earth quakes and mountain folding due to the decreasing curvature of the Earth crust
( Fig. 8 on p. 23).
Today, the majority of scientists accept the plate tectonics (PT) as the sole “just” theory  which explains the processes that have shaped the face of our Earth.
But the hypothesis of the PT  is, by far, not above all doubts, just the opposite!
It has grave weaknesses, which  J. Pfeufer discusses in detail  [29], p. 15 ff.
Even the protagonists of the plate tectonics admit [30], p. 38:
“There is a number of geological phenomena which cannot be explained satisfactorily by the PT.”
The imagination of the so called super continent cycle developed on the basis of the PT, according to which all continents distributed on the globe reunite every about 500 Mio. years into one single land mass time and again, also bears little conviction. Here, the question arises how these complex processes would be compatible with the 2. main theorem of thermodynamics. The PT quite obviously lack evidence and elegance!
Just now, in 2002, the year that has been proclaimed as Geo year by the German Ministry of Research and Technology (BMFT), it would be time, the geo sciences would separate from the dogmatism of the PT and open itself towards alternative hypotheses again, e. g., towards the EE.
Probably, then there would, from the discussion of thesis and antithesis, develop a new synthesis that widens our knowledge of the evolution of our planet Earth.
